Science Fiction requires some science.
John Lars Shoberg has 2 master's degrees, one in chemistry and the other in information technology. So he doesn't find it hard to write science fiction. He currently lives in Groveland Florida with his wife, the family dog and collections of books, videos and artwork. He also loves a good costume.
He does a lot of research for his stories, from undersea work methods for The Waste Gun to colonizing a new planet and anthropology for De-Evolution.
John Lars Shoberg is planning to be at Necronomicon in Tampa, FL, in September, where he may or may not be dressed as a Klingon This will be only our 2nd time at Necronomicon, so we hope to see lots of new friends there! Check out our dealer's table!

Mr Shoberg usually writes in the morning for a couple hours. This is also when he does his research, so that he can get the details correct. Each book requires its own specialized research, from military protocol and strategies to archeological methodology or undersea construction methods.
Mr Shoberg has his own office, and his own computer, an ancient hp that still works fine. He uses the internet to do his research, and he had a dictionary close to hand. He likes for it to be quiet, so that he can concentrate, so he gets irritated when, for instance, the dog starts barking because a leaf has fallen outside.
He enjoys a good story as much as the next guy, and was inspired at an early age to try to put some of his own stories on paper. Unfortunately, his day jobs kept him too busy to do that until about the time he retired, so he's working on getting them all written now.
He enjoys interacting with friends and getting out among people, so 2020 was a difficult year for him. His hobbies include wood working, laser printing and putting together items he has 3d printed in pieces. He is a member of the 501st, a fan club of Star Wars, as well as KAG, a fan club of Star Trek
